Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Aurora Fernandez (Clara Kimball Young), the daughter in an aristocratic but impoverished family, has fallen in love with a modest fisherman, Pedro (Robert Frazer). But her mother (Mrs. E.M. Kimball) forces her to marry the man who holds the mortgage to their estate, Don Armada (Paul Capellani, who was the brother of the film's director Albert Capellani). The lecherous Don Armada caused the death of Pedro's sister Cecilia (Doris Kenyon), so Pedro smashes him in the face with his pistol. Don is temporarily blinded, so Aurora and Pedro use this time to have an affair. But Armada gets his sight back a lot quicker than anyone suspects, and he trails after his wife. He discovers her romance and stabs Pedro, and when he apprises Aurora of this fact, she attacks him. He dies from the shock of the struggle, while Pedro recovers, so the lovers are united once again.
