synopsis
Late one evening, Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) checks two guests into his hotel, Mr. and Mrs. Johnstone (Terence Conoley and June Ellis). Mr. Johnstone is an arrogant American who wants things to be run his way; he demands to be served dinner, but chef Terry (Brian Hall) has no interest in working late. After Johnstone bribes Basil 20 pounds to keep the dining room open, Basil takes over as chef in Terry's place, trying to prepare the Waldorf salad his guest has ordered, severely taxing Basil's culinary expertise.
