synopsis
Basil Fawlty (John Cleese) is forbidden to gamble by his wife Sybil (Prunella Scales), but he secretly puts a little money on a horse race, and finds himself the winner of 75 pounds. At the same time, one of his guests, an elderly woman who can't hear very well, reports to Sybil and Basil that someone has stolen some money from her. When both the woman's missing money and Basil's winnings are found by Sybil, poor Basil finds himself in hot water.
