Synopsis by Janiss Garza

When civil engineer George Castleman (Charles Gotthold) is assigned to work on a railroad construction, his socially-minded wife, Mildred (June Elvidge), refuses to go with him. Instead, she stays home and carries on a flirtation with Arnold Morgan, a rich idler (Frank Goldsmith). Castleman, meanwhile, meets a pretty young mountain girl, Zell (Mollie King). Even though they fall in love, when Zell finds out Castleman is married, she unselfishly goes to Mildred in an attempt to reconcile the couple. Mildred sees this as a way out of her marriage, since she can accuse George of infidelity. She and a detective follow Zell back to the mountains, but the driver who picks them up at the station is drunk and he loses control of his horse and carriage, killing his passengers. Thus Castleman and Zell are free to be together.
