Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Not surprisingly, this one-reel comedy stars Vim's corpulent star (not to mention future Stan Laurel partner) Oliver Hardy, who also directed. Babe (Hardy, who was actually called "Babe" in private life) is engaged to Florence (Florence McLoughlin), and somehow manages to win approval from Florence's battle-axe mother (Kate Price). But then Babe finds himself in hot water when he is distracted by the charms of the vampy Ethel (Ethel Burton). He breaks up with Florence, and her furious mother beats him into such submission that he proposes to her instead of her daughter! Now Florence and Kate find themselves romantic rivals, and they battle it out while Babe turns to Ethel who, it turns out, already has a husband. Chastened by all these events, Babe is more than happy to return to Florence, and the engagement is on once again. Hardy directed a number of films for Vim, but because of apparent insecurity did not ultimately pursue a career behind the camera.
