Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Cabaret girl Gloria Swann (Elsie Ferguson) is all set to marry a wealthy old judge, when she falls in love with Larry (Wyndham Standing), a Canadian soldier who has been blinded in the Great War. She puts aside her desire for material comfort to marry the young man and help him succeed in a song-writing career. The theme of this film -- one of nobility and sacrifice -- was common in the months just after the end of WWI. By keeping a foothold in honest human emotion, (Eyes of the Soul) managed to avoid the potential mawkishness of its plot, and for the most part, Ferguson kept her histrionics within reasonable limits. See also Pettigrew's Girl, a Monte Blue film which was released at the same time as Eyes of the Soul, and which had quite a similar plot.
