The musical style of norteño, which originated in Mexico in the early 20th century, initially attained a widespread following in barrios, but has since gained broader appeal in the southwestern regions of the U.S. as the most popular form of tex mex music. It draws from corridos and polkas, and typically makes broad use of the accordion and bajo sexto. Ten sizzling norteño music videos appear back-to-back in the release Explosion Norteña.
