Essaïda is the name of a popular suburb of Tunis that director Mohamed Zran has painted with a broad brush to reveal a cross-section of the lower echelons of Tunisian society at this time. Forgotten and impoverished, the neighborhoods in Essaïda with their youth drawn into lives of delinquency, leave little hope for the future.
