Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This drama was the first Russian film to be viewed in the US after the formation of the USSR. It tells the story of a defiant Czarist general who continues to resist the Communist take-over of Russia. He persists even after all other resistance has ceased. He attempts to rally the peasants to his cause, but they refuse. Unable to cajole them into joining, he attempts to force them by launching a terrorist campaign against them. The peasants, assisted by the Red Army, revolt against the general.
