Synopsis by Nathan Southern

The harrowing documentary Embedded '45: Shooting War in Germany uses never-before-seen footage from the final days of WWII, shot by period cameramen and recently pulled from the U.S. National Archives. The images depict the Allied troops advancing victoriously on Deutschland, from the west, and taking one village at a time, with great facility. The program includes footage of the Arnoldsweiler concentration camp, the taking of major German cities such as Frankfurt and Cologne, and the army's capture of German prisoners of war.
