Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
This internationally popular satirical comedy by Nikolai Gogol is transplanted to Columbia. Jaime Flores (Hugo Gomez) is a bus passenger who pretends to be an ambassador from India traveling in disguise. By the time he arrives at his destination, the pathological liar is set up in the best hotel in the small town. Jaime soon is visited by the mayor, the governor, and the social elite who all try and please the bogus dignitary. A radio station that plays "Hava Nagilah" as a tribute to India is one of many hilarious misconceptions the locals have about the country. Latin American customs are lampooned in this amusing satire that plays well in any language and locale.
