The historical contributions of multi-talented jazz filmmaker Norman Granz are showcased as his cameras roll to capture the legendary Ella Fitzgerald performing a sublime live set at the 1977 Montreux Jazz Festival. Widely praised as one of the most talented female jazz vocalists ever, Fitzgerald is joined by her regular backing group in performing ten timeless tunes including "Ordinary Fool", "Too Close for Comfort", "Come Rain or Come Shine", and "You Are the Sunshine of My Life".
