Synopsis by Cara Saposnik

The son of a poacher and a young American boy join together in an effort to rescue a baby elephant. In this short film, a young boy's first encounter with the wilderness is movingly told. Elephant Diary was shot on location in Kenya and is a powerful plea for conservation. The beauty of the Serengeti wilderness is contrasted with the tragic consequences of ivory poaching. Robert Nixon's enchanting children's film is a story of friendship and perseverance, and above all, a story about the beauty of elephants.
