Synopsis by Mark Deming

New York City's wildest radio show comes to the big screen in this crazy comedy. Luis Jimenez and Moonshadow Broussard are two disc jockeys who host a morning talk show in which they devote much of their air time to outrageous stories from their listeners. Ambitious Luis and laid-back Moon spend so much time listening to callers telling them tales that seem too crazy to be true that they get an idea -- get a camera crew and hit the road in order to find out who is telling the truth and who isn't. As they fly from the East Coast to the West and from one country to another, Luis and Moon put some truly strange stories on film and have some over-the-top adventures of their own, ranging from a man who has fallen victim to his wife's voodoo spells to a melee in a topless bar. El Vacilón: The Movie was the first feature film for the comedy team of Luis and Moonshadow, who in 2004 managed the remarkable feat of beating "King of All Media" Howard Stern in the ratings in New York City with their radio show El Vacilón de la Mañana.
