A man who looks after the safety of others finds his own peace of mind slowly crumbling into dust in this drama. Ruben (Julio Chavez) works as a bodyguard for Argentina's Minister of National Planning (Osmar Nunez), and over the course of his career Ruben has learned to subsume his own personality and needs to those of the men for whom he works. Ruben barely has a life of his own, and much of his time outside work is spent looking after his sister (Cristina Villamor), who is mentally ill. Ruben likes to draw, but he has little time to explore his creative side, and much of his day is devoted to making sure the Minister is safe or killing time while he's meeting with others. Slowly but surely, the tension of Ruben's work takes a toll on him until he reaches a point where he can no longer continue his way of life. Also starring Marcelo D'Andrea and Elvira Onetto, El Custodio (aka The Custodian) was the first feature film from writer and director Rodrigo Moreno.
