In 17th century Peru, a "bastard" soldier named Jerónimo (Orlando Sacha) searches for birth records to prove that he is not a commoner but the direct descendent of a famous captain. Along the way, his romance with a young nun named Inés (Jimena Lindo) sparks controversy, and soon the star-crossed lovers find themselves on the run from the authorities, still seeking the key to Jeronimo's past.
