Dattaram Pai directs this Filmistan production starring Indian film icon Ashok Kumar. Shamsker Singh (Kumar) is a former army office who longs to leave the military life and settle down as a farmer. His family arranges for him to marry the worldly Neela (Veera) who at the last minute drops out of the wedding arrangement. Dashing off to the big city, she learns that she will inherent a fabulous amount of money if she gets married in eight days. After refusing a number of would be grooms, she happens upon Shamsker Singh in the street and falls in love without realizes that he was the one she was betrothed to.
