Synopsis by Emru Townsend

Liam Neeson narrates the 1998 edition of the grueling adventure race which starts on the Barbary Coast, wends its way through canyons and across rivers, and ends in Marrakech. Travel methods for the 507-km trek include kayaking, rappelling, horseback riding, mountain biking, and, for the first time, coasteering and camel-riding. As in Eco-Challenges past, the rules test both mental and physical endurance. Despite the rugged and sometimes dangerous terrain, requesting medical help automatically disqualifies a team; furthermore, all members of a team must reach the finish line (or even checkpoints) together in order to qualify. Fifty-five teams from around the world participated in the Morocco Eco-Challenge, ranging from seasoned adventure racers to rookie teams.
