Synopsis by Perry Seibert
Joop van Wijk's documentary Echoes of War shows how children from around the world each confront loss and grief in much the same way. The director brings together groups of children from the United States, Columbia, Afghanistan, and Sergio Leone. All of the children of lost parents due to tragedy, or have lived through horrific events themselves. Storytellers tell the same story to each group, a story often used by grief counselors. The directors then record the children sharing the tragic events that have shaped their young lives.
