Synopsis by Alice Day
While the typical person suffering from anorexia or bulimia is a young woman, men also fall victim to the disorder. In Dying to Be Thin, two young men who have the abnormal eating habits associated with the ailments are featured, with one dying at the age of 16. The early signs of someone who has a tendency toward eating disorders are discussed by doctors and counselors. Families and friends of a suspected individual can offer support and steer them to professional assistance. The program is recommended for viewing at junior high, high school, and higher education levels.
