Based on the classic Polish comedy The Moral of Madame Dulska by Gabriela Zapolska (1857-1912), this domestic comedy chronicles the efforts of the matriarch of the Dulski family to maintain her clan's reputation. Content at first to let her son romance the family maid rather than cause scandals elsewhere, she puts her foot down when he says he wants to marry her.
