Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter
In this program from PBS, kids get a chance to draw and color cartoons with Uncle Fred, who turns out to be famous cartoonist Fred Lasswell. Lasswell is the creator of the long-running cartoon Snuffy Smith. He enjoys sharing his expertise with children, and they delight in his attentive good humor. Lasswell presents the kids with a simple formula for drawing, which can be done by anyone. The results are still unique to each art student, since the ideas for the cartoons come out of each child's own life experience.
