Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The Other World becomes a gathering place for a number of "deceased" heroes and villains, who intend to participate in a huge martial arts tournament. Former Z-Fighter Goku agrees to enter the tournament in lieu of going through 10,000 years of training to qualify for a lesson from the Grand Kai. If Goku manages to defeat all comers, he will receive the coveted lesson immediately. And if he loses, what horrible fate lies in store for one who is already dead? First telecast in Japan in 1993, "The Tournament Begins" aired in America on September 11, 2001.
