Synopsis by Jason Buchanan
After appearing on a television talk show to discuss confidence scams, Sgt. Friday (Jack Webb) is approached by a crew member (Doodles Weaver) who claims that his wife has fallen victim to a magazine subscription swindle. Noting the marks left on her fence (to signal the home as an easy target for con artists) as he approaches the house, Friday has a difficult time convincing the woman that she has been scammed, but eventually discovers that the marine who sold her the subscription was a Medal of Honor recipient named Glenn Procustan (Brian Avery). When Friday and Officer Gannon (Harry Morgan) discover a local entrepreneur named Pete Benson (Larry D. Mann), as well as a posthumous Medal of Honor recipient named Procustan, they decide to pay Benson a visit. In turn lead by Benson to the dishonorably discharged son of the Medal of Honor recipient, the lawmen arrest the con artist and his fiancée.
