Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Double Jeopardy was the hour-long pilot for a potential TV detective series titled Pay the Piper. Hugh O'Brian stars as Fred Piper, a jet-setting private eye who takes on cases no one else can solve. Right now he's trying to find out what happened to a missing millionaire, a task made difficult by the millionaire's wife, Lauren Bacall. For some reason, Bacall doesn't want Piper to question her identical twin sister (note the title "Double Jeopardy"). Also featured in this mystery are Tom Poston, likewise cast in a dual role, and Zsa Zsa Gabor as Piper's private jet pilot (How'd you like to be her air traffic controller?) Double Jeopardy was originally telecast January 8, 1965, on NBC's Bob Hope Chrysler Theatre.
