Dire Straits: The Videos (1993)
Synopsis by Mark Deming
Thanks to the nimble guitar work and expressive songwriting of Mark Knopfler, Dire Straits became one of the biggest and most respected British rock groups of the 1980s, and this home video collection brings together clips for most of the band's best-known songs, as well as a few performances from Knopfler's side project, the Notting Hillbillies, and from his solo work. Twenty songs in all are featured, including "Sultans of Swing," "Money for Nothing," "So Far Away," "Walk of Life," "Tunnel of Love," "Calling Elvis," and "Going Home (Theme From Local Hero)."
