The Wiener Philharmoniker mounted this 1991 production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 1791 opera Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute), with a cast that includes René Pape, Deon van der Walt, Herbert Lippert, Luciana Serra, and Ruth Ziesak. Johannes Schaaf directs for the stage; the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna State Opera Chorus Konzertvereinigung lend musical accompaniment with the late Sir Georg Solti conducting.
