Oskar Schindler was not the only man inexplicably moved to save Jewish lives during the Holocaust. Another was Willi Schulz, an "administration officer" of the Third Reich in Russia (Minsk). Suspected by his superiors of protecting Jewish lives, he was about to be transferred back to Berlin in 1941. The day before his transfer, he took a truck with 25 Jews deeper into Russia. Among those he saved was his lover, Ilse Stein. Sadly, he did not survive. This documentary explores his story, which has grown to legendary proportions in the Jewish community in the intervening years. This is done largely through interviews with Ilse Stein. She discusses the tragic and dramatic events she lived through in a lively manner. However, at least as interesting as the facts she does discuss, are the emotional things she does not discuss.
