Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Although she really loves Jack Harrington (Curtis Cooksey), Violet D'Arcy (Kitty Gordon) decides to marry Robert Van Ellstrom (Milton Sills) because he has money. But Violet is so extravagant that she easily goes through his fortune and she has to find other means of living in style. What she doesn't know is that Jack, who she thought was poor, comes from a well-off family, and she doesn't realize that it's his father (George MacQuarrie) who is writing her checks to get an entree into society. Violet gives a soiree which all the Harringtons attend. The elder Harrington forces himself on her, and both Van Ellstrom and Jack get involved in the ensuing struggle. Mr. Harrington fires a shot which hits Jack. He thinks he has killed his son and turns the gun on himself. Jack, however, is merely wounded and he recovers. Violet, meanwhile, rather belatedly realizes she's been a very foolish young woman and her husband forgives her.
