Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
An undistinguished, first-time effort by director Adrian Baenninger, Der Sprung von der Bruecke focuses on the demi-monde of the juvenile set in a small Swiss town. The youths suffer the most from ennui and a misguided view of reality. They are anything but responsible -- none are busy studying for a future career or working a steady job to climb up the social or economic ladder. One of them gets the idea he should jump from a high bridge just to prove his manhood or defy death or whatever. The trouble is that his idea has infected another lad with the same fervor and the consequences are not at all good.
