This straight-on German documentary was based on a series of magazine articles by Joe J. Heydicher and Johannes Leeb. Never editorializing or taking sides, the film offers actuality footage of the Nazi war crimes trials in Nuremberg. Sharing screen time with scenes of the accusers and accused are clips of Adolph Hitler, Joseph Goebbels and other Nazi leaders who cheated the hangman by committing suicide. There are also harrowing shots of the Death Camps, likewise presented objectively, minus emotional voiceover commentary. Much of the footage in Der Nuernberger Prozess was later assimilated into the various TV documentary series then in vogue in the U.S. and England.
