Carl Maria von Weber's wildly successful bohemian opera detailing a lovelorn man's reluctant deal with the devil is performed before a live audience in this release of a performance featuring libretto by Johann Friedrich Kind and offering the music of the Chorus and Orchestra of the Württembergische Staatsoper, Stuttgart performing under conductor Dennis Russell Davies.
