Degas, Erte and Chagall explores the life and work of three of the 20th century's most influential artists. Three individual segments provide a unique look at each of the modern masters. "Degas in New Orleans" highlights a visit to the city by French painter and sculptor Edgar Degas. Diana Vreeland hosts the next segment dedicated to the career and personal world of the father of the Art Deco Movement, Erte. The program shows how the artist's work made an impact on the worlds of fashion, theater, and design. In the third segment, Russian-born French painter and graphic artist Marc Chagall, known for his poetic and fantasy images, discusses his greatest works. The stories combine to offer an insightful glimpse into the significant forces that helped shape contemporary art.
