Synopsis by Mark Deming

Lifelong friends find themselves on opposite sides of the law in this gritty urban drama. Mike (Grady McCardell) and his close friends Kareem (Jason Morgan), Preacha (Shawn McLemore), and BJ (Curtis Von Burrell) were born and raised on the same mean streets of an unforgiving inner-city neighborhood. Mike's brother was a major player in an illegal business and was killed by rivals for his troubles. Mike steps in to fill his brother's shoes, and he and Kareem make it their business to find the killer and take an eye for an eye. However, these days BJ is a police detective, and he has been assigned to investigate Mike's business and take him off the streets -- so where do his loyalties as a friend end and his duties as a police officer begin? 4 Deep also features performances from a number of noted hip-hop artists, including Lil' Keke, C-Note and D-Red of the Botany Boys, Mass 187, and the late DJ Screw.
