Synopsis by Mark Deming

Three Canadian teenagers who don't put much stock in the future decide to go out in a blaze of glory in this ambitious shot-on-video feature, partially improvised by the cast and featuring contributions from the public which were submitted via the film's official website. Harold (Harold Amero) is a moody and depressive kid who ran away from home to live on the streets of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Adrian (Adrian Rogers) is a friend of Harold's who likes to talk about taking his life, but hardly seems the sort to actually do it. And Nicole (Nicole Raven) is an attractive girl given to mood swings who doesn't like to talk about herself and is nervous about sexual matters. Harold persuades Adrian and Nicole to join him on a road trip to the British Columbia coastline, and over the next 11 days, their little adventure turns into a nightmarish crawl through a world of drugs, violence, petty crime, running from the law, and mounting hopelessness, though none seem especially troubled by Harold's big plans for his arrival in British Columbia -- a three-way suicide pact. Deadend.com was screened in competition at the 2002 Toronto Film Festival, as well as the 2003 Sundance Film Festival.
