Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Also known as David Gorelick, A Jew at War is a characteristic "message" picture from Soviet director Grigory Roshal. The protagonist, David Gorelick (Venimin Zuskin), marches off to the battlefield during WWI, where he is cold-shouldered by his fellow soldiers because of his Hebraic origins. Proving himself a hero, David soon earns the respect of his comrades. Upon returning home, he continues acting with conspicuous courage, sacrificing his life for the greater good of the Soviet industrial revolution. A Jew at War was co-scripted by Roshal's wife, Vera Stroyova.
