synopsis
In this romantic comedy and satire, fish are a potent symbol of fertility, and Franz is failing to live up to his side of the bargain with Mother Nature: to bring a child into the world. Naturally, after he flees his first girlfriend Maria because he doesn't want children, he becomes obsessed with fish. He gets involved with Tina, a woman who has close ties with Maria, and a series of mishaps drive Franz back into Maria's arms. By way of contrast, the fertile couple of Klaus and Johanna have two children and a perfect relationship; they are an example for us all. However, perhaps it is not an example which Greenpeace would readily approve of.
