Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This West German "road" film was released in the U.S. under the rather blunt title The Cripples Go Christmas. Enrico Bottcher, Arnold Fruhwald, Rupert Seidl and Stefan Wood play Ringo, Aga, Wieber and Spasski, four impecunious but resourceful paraplegics. Hoping to have a merry Christmas, the foursome steals a large sum of money from their group home and heads for the city. While cadging a meal in a fancy restaurant, the boys make the acquaintance of a whimsical cigarette girl, who grants them three wishes. Presto! Each of the four receives a motorized wheelchair and a beautiful woman. What they do with these gifts, and how their third wish backfires, comprises the final half of this perversely charming first feature from writer/director Earl Huttner.
