Annette O'Toole, Michael Dolan, and John Heard star as a trio of astronauts trapped in a void in space. Surrounded by the wreckage of space vessels that have disappeared in the past, the astronauts become haunted by the ghosts of dead crew members. This bizarre phenomenon results in an unexpected reunion between astronaut Paul Stein (Heard) and his long-lost brother, Kevin (David Cubitt), a reunion that may hold the key to salvation for Paul and his comrades. The first episode of the "new" Outer Limits to be filmed, "Dark Matters" was the 11th episode to be telecast over the Showtime cable network, on June 2, 1995.
