Directed by B-Western specialist Robert North Bradbury, Daniel Boone Thru the Wilderness was a would-be epic soundly defeated by a miniscule budget courtesy of Gower Gulch company Sunset Productions. Roy Stewart, a veteran of the silent range, starred in the title role, with Kathleen Collins (the wife of burgeoning Western star Guinn "Big Boy" Williams) as the romantic interest; Tom Lingham as the girl's father; Frank Rice as Hank, the comic relief; and Edward Hearn, as the girl's wastrel brother. Director Bradbury's young son appeared in a bit part. The following year, the youngster would emerge as a Western star in his own right, billing himself Bob Steele.
