Synopsis by Janiss Garza

The "dangerous talent" of the title is the uncanny ability of Lelia Mead (Margarita Fisher) to imitate anyone's handwriting. This skill loses her a job as a stenographer because her paranoid boss is afraid that she'll use her skill to commit forgery. When she can't find work for several weeks, she blackmails Gilbert Ellis, a wealthy acquaintance (Harry Hilliard), into hiring her as a secretary. But there are real crooks afoot who are trying to swindle Ellis. One of them, posing as a butler in Ellis' home, commits a murder which is blamed on Ellis. Lelia makes sure the truth comes out by forging a confession that makes the other crook admit the truth. Ellis forgives Lelia for the blackmail and finds happiness with her.
