Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Riverdance veterans Jean Butler and Colin Dunne served as stars, producers and choreographers of this Irish-flavored dance adaptation of the ancient Celtic myth "The Hunt for Diarmuid and Grania." Bearing discernable traces of the King Arthur legend, the story concerns the clandestine romance between Grainne (Jean Butler), the wife of Royal Irish Army commander Finn McCool (Tony Kemp), and Diarmuid (Colin Dunne), McCool's finest and most trusted warrior. The music was specially written for this production by Seamus Egan, and performed by the Irish folk group Solas. Recorded at the Royal Theatre in Drury Lane, Dancing on Dangerous Ground was given limited theatrical play beginning in December of 1999. Pared down from 74 to 60 minutes, the all-dance extravanganza made its American cable-TV debut over the Bravo network on March 17, 2003.
