Synopsis by Emru Townsend

While painting a landscape just outside of Tokyo, the beautiful Emu Hino witnesses a double assassination by a handsome man who cries after murdering his victims. Surprisingly, he lets her go -- but things become complicated very quickly. The assassin targets Emu for death, while he is targeted by the family of the yakuza boss he dispatched. When a corrupt cop forms an alliance with the widow of the yakuza boss, the number of targets and killers only increases -- and they're all focused on Emu's home. Emu becomes obsessed with the charismatic assassin, and when he comes for her, it turns out that he is also attracted to her. Unable to kill her, he saves her from the gunmen, then reveals that he is Yo Hinomura. Once an acclaimed potter, he was brainwashed into becoming a top assassin for the 108 Dragons after witnessing a murder. Willing to leave her old life behind, Emu helps Yo to come up with a plan to outwit the yakuza and the police -- and find acceptance in a society where death is a way of life. (American release in 1995.)
