The ruler of a small, impoverished European kingdom is facing a revolution, so he covertly sends the crown jewels to America to be sold. But Madame Levine (Lillian Langdon), who's in league with a crooked gang, finds out about this and plans to get her hands on the bounty. She meets up with Diana DeLille (Claire Anderson), a French refugee, and convinces her to pose as her daughter. Together, they become part of the society crowd at a posh hotel -Diana completely unaware of Madame Levine's scheme. They meet up with banker Maxwell Grey (George C. Pearce) and his son, Kenneth (Joe Bennett), who falls in love with Diana. The young couple suspect that Madame Levine is up to something. When Diana figures out the plot, Madame Levine locks her up. She gets away and heads for the crooks' rendezvous but discovers that with Kenneth's help, they have been caught and arrested.
