Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

In this PBS video, journalist Bill Moyers explores the creative process with the multi-talented Maya Angelou, the writer, teacher, and civil rights activist. She teaches at Wake Forest University, and read her poetry for the inauguration of President Bill Clinton. Among her books are I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and All God's Children Need Traveling Shoes. Angelou converses with Moyers about how her adventurous life, which includes living in Ghana and working for Dr. Martin Luther King during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, affects her creative work.
