Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard
When Jeff (Richard Coyle) falls madly in love with a beautiful woman on the train, his smitten state makes him even more flummoxed than usual. Although he actually manages to speak to her, he somehow blurts out a very difficult lie to back up: he tells her he's an amputee. The woman, Chrissy (Alison King), whose own brother is an actual amputee, admires him for his bravery and showers him with affection. She also holds out the promise of hot sex. Unfortunately for Jeff, the removal of his pants would blow his cover. Before long, he finds himself contemplating a voluntary amputation just so he can satisfy his carnal urges. Meanwhile, Sally (Kate Isitt) deals with some little white relationship lies of her own. Originally broadcast September 3, 2001, on BBC2, "The Man With Two Legs" marked season two, episode one of the hit Britcom.
