Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

A series of misunderstandings causes problems between Susan (Sarah Alexander) and Steve (Jack Davenport), threatening to destroy their relationship. As in so many modern romances, cell phones are to blame. Susan and Jeff (Richard Coyle) accidentally exchange theirs, leading Susan to find out that Steve is out giving his number to strange girls at the bar -- or at least one strange girl, Giselle (Hazel McBride), aka "the French bitch." Jane (Gina Bellman), Sally (Kate Isitt), Julia (Lou Gish), and Susan all eventually pose as Giselle to find out exactly how far Steve's extracurricular activities have progressed. But as it turns out, Susan herself has quite a past with foreigners -- Australians, to be exact. Originally broadcast October 29, 2001, on BBC2, "The End of the Line" marked season two, episode nine of the hit Britcom.
