Synopsis by Brian J. Dillard

After Jeff (Richard Coyle) has an ambiguous encounter in the stationary cupboard with an attractive co-worker named Wilma (Emilia Fox), he must turn to his friends for help in navigating an after-work drink with her. Unfortunately, although Steve (Jack Davenport) and the gang provide plenty of advice via a surreptitious cell phone link, Jeff's girlfriend, Julia (Lou Gish), gets on the line just as Wilma is making her play for Jeff. His response, as usual, is to dig himself deeper into trouble. Meanwhile, Jane gets into trouble with one of her own co-workers: James (Lloyd Owen), the new religious broadcaster at her radio station. Although James claims to be celibate and their first date occurs at a Christian encounter group, sexed-up Jane can't seem to get him out of her mind -- even after he turns out to have a mysterious past with Susan (Sarah Alexander). Originally broadcast September 30, 2002, on BBC2, "Faithless" marked season three, episode two of the hit Britcom.
