Two crooks, Jerry the Gent (Rockliffe Fellowes) and Nick the Dope (Raymond Hatton), discover that their compatriot, Mary Brennan (Marie Prevost), is a dead ringer for heiress Margaret Waring (Prevost again). They create a plan which places Mary in the Waring home while Margaret is out of town. The crooks are about to rob the safe when Margaret shows up unexpectedly. In a panic,the thieves shoot her, and during a tense investigation, Mary is forced to continue her impersonation. Supposedly, Mary is able to read minds, and this helps her out of more than one sticky situation. Wilfred Lucas plays Mary's nemesis, Detective Updike.
