A group of young Mexican street thugs seeking to escape their squalid surroundings are drawn to the vicious world of underground fighting in director Jorge Reynoso's revealing look at life among the desperate. The streets of Mexico have exploded in violence, but determined gangster Yerico has found a means of making the money needed to escape his bleak surroundings. Initially convinced that the money made by fighting will provide him with a means of transcending his bleak surroundings, Yerico quickly discovers that the survival odds in this vicious underground arena may in fact be even less than they were on the mean streets he had struggled so desperately to escape.
